Camp for Teens

Confidence is Cool  Teen Camp:

Confidence is Cool Teen Camp is a recreational day camp for teens, ages 13-17, and as with the Confidence is Cool Kids' Camp, is designed to fill the void in summer programming available to adolescents with physical disabilities.

Confidence Is Cool operates with an overall goal of providing participating teens with a supportive environment that allows them to build confidence and self-esteem.  Hosted at our facilities in Fort Adams State Park, Newport, Rhode Island, the Confidence is Cool Teen Camp provides an environment that allows for challenging, new experiences, encourages peer mentoring, promotes new friendships, builds confidence and emphasizes fun!

Confidence is Cool Teen Camp is scheduled for three weekly camps beginning late June through late July.  The camp day runs from 10am- 3pm, Monday through Friday.

The program is designed to utilize the many resources available in Newport and the neighboring East Bay area of Rhode Island.  The sessions include sailing, swimming, arts and crafts, mobility games and sports, field trips and other creative activities that are designed to meet the needs and abilities of teens while pushing boundaries and building confidence.

The Teen Camp staff offers a wide range of resources and capabilities. Several staff members have disabilities as well, which provides a very unique mentoring opportunity for the children. Licensed and registered nurses are able to meet any medical needs. Counselors and volunteers are energetic and fun and form special friendships with the children.

The program is designed to accommodate up to 15 campers per weekly session.  Tuition is $75 per week and need-based scholarships are available upon request.

Need a Ride? RIPTA (The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority) offers a special transit program for those who are unable to use their regular bus services.  Give us a call and we can put you in touch with several parents who found success with this program last year.
